Annual Flu Vaccination

Complete the eConsent form to ensure your child receives their vaccination

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Your child’s annual flu vaccination is now due – William Byrd

This vaccination programme is in place to help protect your child against flu. Flu can be an unpleasant illness and sometimes causes serious complications. Vaccinating your child will also help protect more vulnerable friends and family by preventing the spread of flu.

Please click on the link to access the eConsent form (one for each child) on our parent portal as soon as possible to ensure your child receives their vaccination.

If you have any questions about using the parent portal or vaccination please contact the immunisations team on 01895 485740

The vaccination is free and recommended for young children, and will be given by a quick and simple spray up the nose.

More information is available at www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/child-flu-vaccine/ and includes answers to common questions and details about the small number of children for whom the nasal vaccine is not appropriate.

The nasal spray vaccine contains a very small amount of purified porcine gelatine as an essential ingredient to keep it stable and able to work. For those who may not accept medicines or vaccines that contain porcine gelatine, a flu vaccine injection is available.

Last year, most children offered the vaccine in schools had the immunisation.

If you have any queries please contact the immunisations team on 01895 485740

Yours sincerely,
Immunisations Team
