Update from the Head
Monday 18 May
I hope that you and your families are staying safe and well in these uncertain times. We are keeping our website up to date with all the latest information, advice and guidance, as well as online learning work and ideas to complement the home learning work packs you have had delivered to your door. Remember to visit our new Newsroom page to see photos, a video and messages from WB staff and pictures of the amazing work and learning that our children are doing at home. We love seeing what you are up to, please keep sending us your photos.
The staff at William Byrd are continuing to work incredibly hard during this school closure period to ensure that regular work is set for children and they are creating work packs which are being delivered fortnightly to all of our families to support home learning. They are also providing feedback on work that is completed and returned to school. Teachers are also busy answering your emails and keeping in touch with as many of our children and families as possible – please do remember to use your dedicated year group email address to stay in touch.
We are incredibly fortunate to have the support of our friends at Heathrow Airport who have helped us with the delivery and collections of home learning packs for every family. I would like to extend a huge thank you to Sarah Pickard, Lizzie Beale and the Heathrow Rangers team for making this happen and giving up their time to deliver the work packs and also breakfast food parcels to families who need additional support at this difficult time.
We are continuing to provide childcare every day, including in the school holidays, to the children of key workers and other identified children and I would like to take this opportunity to thank my dedicated and hard-working team of Senior Leaders, Teachers, LSAs and SMSAs who are coming in to school to make this happen.
Don’t forget you can contact us on email@example.com if you have any questions or suggestions.
Stay safe and we can’t wait to see you all again.
