Poetry Day

William Byrd celebrated National Poetry Day once again this year. We explored different poems based on the theme refuge.

It was a really important theme for us because we understand that home is where we feel safe and not everyone has a safe home. Not only did we read poems from all over the world, but we also wrote our own using a different literary devices including rhymes and figurative language. We then had the opportunity to perform our poems, where we focused on our intonation and being emotive.
