Year 2 Still Life in Art
Year 2 have been learning about Still Life in Art, they have studied, analysed and expressed their opinions on the art work of Paul Cezanne and Vincent Van Gogh.
The children were particularly inspired by Paul Cezanne, they carried out an artist study and developed their own ideas for their own still life installation. The children used a view finder to recreate part of Paul Cezanne’s famous ‘The Basket of Apples- 1895.’ They then used clay to sculpt a utensil and newspaper to paper mache a model of fruit and vegetables, to be exhibited in their 3D Still Life installation. They used different coiling, sculpting, layering, joining and moulding techniques to create their artwork. It is yet to be unveiled!
