Gunthuk Soup

Year 2 explored different ways to prepare vegetables for their Gunthuk Soup in DT.

We used different utensils, we learnt the safest ways to handle the utensils and how different vegetables are prepared in different ways. We used peelers, graters, bowls, knives, chopping boards, strainers and garlic crushers. We identified which vegetables needed to be sliced, diced, chopped, grated, washed, peeled and mashed. We took turns to practise using the utensils safely and preparing the vegetables. After making the soup, we tasted it and shared our opinions with the rest of the class. Most of us really enjoyed the soup, some of us found it too gingery!
