Year 6 Safer Schools Assembly

On Monday 17th June we had a visit from a police Safer School Officer.  The officer spoke to our Year 6 children about specific school scenarios and crime areas specific to young people.

The officer spoke about many things but mainly about:

  • Internet safety
  • Stranger danger and being safe out in the public eye
  • Travelling to school and not abusing the Oyster card
  • Not travelling alone to school, as this will make them vulnerable
  • Keeping possessions safe in their bags and not having them on show - especially mobile phones
  • Age limits for social network sites and the age when a child can be arrested
  • Abusive messaging and how harmful it can be to another person
