Year 2 have been learning about the different ways flowers are used in Art, they have been exploring different themes, colours, representations and have been using various mediums to create sketches and paintings.

Year 2 have been working really hard in Maths, using various manipulatives to add two 2-digit numbers across 10. They have been counting, calculating, exchanging and checking, allowing them to be marvellous mathematicians. 

John McDonnell the MP for Hayes and Harlington visited William Byrd on the 17^th November 2023. 

Many children in KS2 participated in the Times Tables Rockstars competition 'England Rocks' between 14^th - 16^th November.

We are pleased to announce that WIlliam Byrd placed 283rd out of over 4,000 schools and class 6 Angelou placed an incredible 76^th out of over 30,000 classes! Well done!

We marked the start of Anti-Bullying week this year with Odd Socks Day on Monday 13 November.

Children and staff were invited to come to school wearing odd socks to celebrate their individuality and what makes them all unique.

This year the event focusses on the importance of acts of kindness, starting with 'One Kind Word'.

On Friday 10^th November children and staff across the school observed a 2-minute silence at 11am to remember those that gave their lives in war.

The whole school produced some lovely works of art and writing on the day. Our EYFS classes created some fabulous displays for everyone to enjoy. Nursery children also decorated their very own biscuits with poppies and took these home to enjoy with their family.
