Year 3 Sleepover

What an unforgettable experience our Year 3 children had at their recent school sleepover! Excitement was in the air from the moment they arrived, bags in hand, ready for an evening of fun, laughte and adventure with their classmates.

We kicked things off outdoors, where the children had the freedom to run, play and enjoy the fresh air. Football matches quickly got underway, with some impressive teamwork and goal-scoring action! Others explored the new OPAL playground equipment, climbing, bike-riding and making up imaginative games together. It was wonderful to see the children so active and joyful, making the most of the lighter evening and each other’s company.

After all that energetic play, appetites were well and truly ready for a feast – and what better than pizza for dinner? The hall was buzzing as everyone sat down to share their favourite slices. There was plenty of chatter and excitement about the evening ahead, and the pizza certainly didn’t disappoint!

Next came a much-anticipated movie night. The children changed into their pyjamas, rolled out their sleeping bags, and settled down for a cosy film screening. It was a lovely calm moment after the earlier excitement, with everyone enjoying some downtime, snuggled up with friends in a relaxed and happy atmosphere.

As the lights dimmed and the film ended, it was time for bed – right there in the school hall! For some of the children, it was their first night sleeping away from home in a school setting, and they handled it brilliantly. The hall was full of whispers, giggles and eventually the children drifted off to sleep.

Morning came with smiles and sleepy faces, and breakfast was waiting – a choice of cereal and buttery croissants to start the day right. The children chatted about their favourite parts of the evening, and it was clear they had made memories they’ll treasure for a long time.

We are so proud of how well all the children behaved and how much they embraced the experience. A huge thank you goes out to all the staff who helped organise and supervise the event – and to parents and carers for your support too. It was a fantastic way to bring the year group together and celebrate a brilliant year so far.
