PTA

What is PTA?

A PTA is a Parent Teacher Association, an organisation with a mission to make the school a better place for children to learn. William Byrd Primary Academy PTA brings together parents, teachers and children to raise funds and strengthen the school community.

PTA members will get involved in helping setting up various events that take place during the academic year, including, school discos, summer and Christmas fairs, fund-raising events e.g. cake sales and much more!

Meet Our PTA Team

	KIRAN - CHAIR ^{Hi, I’m Kiran - Mummy to Raya and Chair of the school PTA. I’m the life of the party and I love socialising. I enjoy travelling, eating and all things music! If you see me around the school, please say hi! And if I can help you in any way, please stop me, and I’ll be more than happy to chat or answer any questions you may have.}
	MICHELLE - TREASURER ^{Hello, I am Miss Darby, my primary role in the school is Pastoral Manger and DSL. Some of you may have already seen me around. I have worked at William Byrd Primary School for many years and have organised many PTA events during this time. I am the PTA Treasurer and this involves controlling the PTA funds in line with the committee's decision. I make sure upcoming events are affordable and profitable and report financial information to the rest of the team.}
	CHELSEY - PTA SECRETARY ^{Hi, my name is Chelsey. I am very pleased to be part of the PTA team. I currently have 2 children in Years 4 & 6 at William Byrd. I’m looking forward to helping out in and around the school.}
	LAUREN - PTA SECRETARY ^{Hi, my name is Lauren and I’m a proud parent at the school as well as an active member of the PTA. I enjoy being involved in creating special memories and planning events that bring joy to our school community. Being part of the PTA allows me to play a meaningful role in my child’s education while helping to build lifelong memories. It’s an honour to contribute to a positive school environment where everyone feels welcome, supported, and connected.}
	DAVINA ^{Hello, I’m Davina. My son is currently in Year 5 at William Byrd and he loves it. The PTA has always been something I have been interested in. I have joined to support the children’s overall experience at school. Namely the events such as Fairs and Discos. These are the parts I’m sure we all enjoyed as part of our education. Making these memories for the children is a key reason to why I joined.}
	SUZIE ^{Hello, I'm Suzie. I have 3 children, who all attend William Byrd. I can't wait to help plan some amazing things for the children at our school. Please feel free to stop and ask me any question you may have about our events. Let's create some amazing memories for our children!}
	LUCY ^{Hi, my name is Lucy. I'm so excited to be part of the PTA Team and look forward to helping plan some fantastic events for all the children at William Byrd.}
	MICHELLE ^{Hi, my name is Michelle, and I have been a registered childminder for 25 years. Over the years, many of the children I have cared for have also attended William Byrd, which has made me feel even more connected to the community. I have been part of the school for 32 years, first as a parent to my three children and now as a grandparent with my grandchildren attending William Byrd. I feel as I am a passionate member of the PTA, dedicated to fundraising and making lasting memories for the children, while supporting the school and creating a welcoming, positive environment for all families.}
	SHANNON ^{Hi I’m Shannon, I have a son in year 4 and my twin girls in nursery. I am excited to be part of the team, bringing some amazing events for all to enjoy.}
