As a school we are always looking for ways we can increase and embed creative opportunities for learning.  Our Year 1 children enjoyed an Active Maths Lesson which involved a combination of Maths and physical activity.  The children had 15 Maths questions which were placed outside in the playground in various places.  Children had to find all 15 cards and work out the answers before returning to the classroom.

The children were fully engaged and the lesson was a huge success and was an enjoyable alternative to classroom based learning.  We hope to have many more Active Maths Lessons in the future across the school.

    Published 11/06/19

On Tuesday 11th June Year 2 visited Heathrow Airport - Terminal 5 to attend an educational talk about Neurodiversity.

On arrival the children were guided to a conference room where they watched a presentation, the lovely staff at Heathrow explained what Neurodiversity is in a very child friendly manner.

The children were able to act out being Neuro transmitters working in the body through a practical relay obstacle course. The children then had the opportunity to explore the sensory room, where there were different activities that stimulated each of the senses.

As part of the session the children were then able to go down to the ground floor and see The Umbrella Project display. There were 400 multi-coloured umbrellas suspended between the buildings. The display was created to celebrate Neurodiversity.

The Heathrow employees were also extremely impressed with how well the children behaved, actively engaged and positively responded to the sessions. The children were mesmerised, they thoroughly enjoyed the day and can’t wait to go back!

  • Pyjamarama in Nursery

    Published 07/06/19

We had a visitor from Harlington Library on Friday 7th June.  We invited parents to come in and join their children and learn how a bedtime story can develop their child's learning and create a love for books later on in life.   The lights were dimmed, the blankets were out and the children enjoyed the story so much we had to wake them up with singing 'They were five in a bed....'!

Harlington Library generously gifted each child a book 'Truck, Truck, Car, Jeep' to take home with them which our children were very excited to receive.  Thank you to everyone who attended.
