William Byrd Primary Academy held a special launch day to mark their re-opening. The school has joined the Middlesex Learning partnership which also includes Belmore Primary Academy and Barnhill Community High School in its family of schools.

The day was a huge success, with a special lunch and cake cutting ceremony for visiting dignitaries including John McDonnell, the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, Cllr John Morgan and Fiona Morgan, the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Hillingdon, as well as representatives from local businesess and the Governors and Trustees of the Middlesex Learning Partnership.

200 balloons in the school colours of blue and gold were launched and there were special events for children, staff and parents throughout the day.

Tracey Hemming, the CEO of the Middlesex Learning Partnership said, "We are delighted to welcome William Byrd Primary Academy to the Trust. We have been working in partnership with the school since Christmas last year and have already made significant progress in the schools journey to providing truely excellent learning experiences and outcomes for all children. The atmosphere in the school today has been fantastic and the school staff deserve credit for organising such a successful and enjoyable event."
